Position Summary

SUMMARY:

The Corporate Vice President and Assistant Controller will be responsible for the direction and oversight for  the Company’s corporate and consolidation reporting operations including but not limited to financial policy identification, drafting financial policy and implementing and monitoring financial policy, management of accounting and internal control systems. The incumbent will be responsible for the functional ownership of the Oracle general ledger, including consolidation and reporting components. The Corporate Vice President and Assistant Controller will be responsible for ensuring the company’s compliance with GAAP and SEC regulations. This position will also be responsible for the direction and coordination of the identification, analysis and implementation of relevant and new financial reporting pronouncements.

 
Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·         Reviews, evaluates and implements accounting systems, policies and procedures.

·         Ensures all financial reports are prepared in a timely and accurate manner.

·         Manages the functional areas of financial reporting and control.

·         Prepares and presents financial statements and related reports including but not limited to balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow reports, budgets, and variance analysis.

·         Establishes and monitors appropriate internal control systems to ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.

·         Supervises monthly balancing of books and monthly account reviews; prepares and presents monthly financial statements.

·         Directs the implementation of new accounting pronouncements on a world-wide basis for the overall finance organization.

·         Integration of acquired entities, including foreign operations

·         Ensuring all foreign operating operations are reporting on a basis consistent with the Company’s financial policies and US GAAP.

·         System implementation and process improvement

·         Reviews and determines appropriate foreign exchange activity.

·         In conjunction with the tax department, reviews and refines the tax recording and reporting activities in accordance with FASB 109.

·         Oversees GAAP compliance, including lease accounting.

·         Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation, consulting with outside advisors, and filing financial reports. Advises management of actions and potential risks.

·         Arranges for audits as required and appropriate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Supervises and manages performance of the Director of Accounting.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Detail and deadline oriented

·         Experience in advanced accounting and financial reporting matters, design and maintenance of internal control systems, project and team leadership.

·         Knowledge of financial reports

·         Proven leadership skills and business acumen

·         Demonstrated proficiency in the conceptual and practical application of accounting principals generally accepted in the U.S., and an ability to apply such knowledge to unique situations outside of the U.S.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·         Bachelor’s degree required

·         Master’s degree preferred

·         CPA required

·         Six (6) to eight (8) years related corporate accounting experience with exposure to international divisions

·         Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in a public company.

·         Five (5) or more years of management experience.

·         Prior experience in REIT’s a plus

 

ENVIRONMENT:

100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions. Approximately 25% travel required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
