Position Summary

SUMMARY:

The Territory Supervisor directly supervises Site Supervisors and Lighting Technicians within an assigned territory. The incumbent routinely monitors the quality of work and ensures training is provided to appropriate team members. The Territory Supervisor Works closely with superiors and counterparts in Sales, Collocation, Rooftop, Broadcast, Tenant Improvements, Development, and other functional units as required to maximize customer utilization and profitability of American Tower assets. The incumbent will be responsible for ensuring that regulatory compliance, safety, quality, and configuration integrity is maintained at American Tower sites.

 
Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assists Operations Manager in managing both in-house and outsourced resources by supervising Site Supervisors and Lighting Technicians overseeing the use of third party services and equipment.
  • Manages fiscal requirements for assigned territory and provides leadership, guidance and training to the team as necessary to accomplish organizational objectives.
  • Ensures that the team maintains continuous regulatory and contractual compliance for all American Tower assets within assigned territory.
  • Coordinates with counterparts in Sales, Collocation, Rooftop, Broadcast, Tenant Improvements, Development, and other functional units to provide required field support.
  • Manages third party contractors and vendors directly contracted with American Tower to provide field support services, labor, and materials.
  • Ensures that all reporting and documentation is current, including OASIS input, centralized files, closeout documentation, regulatory compliance documentation and other information required to effectively track, review and maintain our information in up to date.
  • Ensures that all NOTAMs (Notice to Airmen) and lighting repairs will be completed and closed out within 14 days. NOTAM extensions will only be allowed in extraordinary circumstances.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all Federal, State and Municipal regulations for American Tower owned/managed assets and personnel.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervision and performance review of Ops Site Supervisors, Tower Techs (lighting crew) and Operations Coordinator
  • Identify and resolve personnel issues in conjunction with HR

OTHER:

  • Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Thorough knowledge of construction techniques, technologies and processes
  • Ability to work with varying functional employees throughout the American Tower organization
  • Financial knowledge to make spending decisions
  • Strong leadership abilities and interpersonal skills. Able to effectively manage work groups and multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Strong customer services skills
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA requirements within the Construction industry
  • Basic knowledge of FAA/FCC regulations, and environmental requirements
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency
  • Self-starter, team player, results-oriented
  • Valid driver’s license 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 10 years construction experience preferred
  • 3+ years experience in related fields such as site/property management, collocation, operations, site acquisition/development, project management, carrier operations, plus 1-2 years supervisory experience
  • Professional Degree in Construction Science, Business, Civil Engineering, Property Management or equivalent experience

ENVIRONMENT:

Approximately 50 % performed in an office or home office environment. Approximately 50 % travel will be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds. This position requires the ability to walk unassisted on undeveloped land.
