Position Summary

SUMMARY:

The Construction Manager is responsible for all day-to-day construction related activities in support of the Services or Development business on assigned sites within a project. Primary responsibilities include managing relationship with customer counterpart on the project, budgets, vendors, project timelines, goals and resources. The Construction Manager is accountable to manage project site budgets.

 

 
Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage sites within project that will contain multiple scopes of work.
  • Develop and maintain relationship with customer counterpart assigned to the project.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of Contractual agreements for project.
  • Create and maintain site budgets and schedules for all construction related activities on the project. In addition to actual construction installations, support activities will include but are not limited to the following, A&E review, utility ordering and coordination, and close out submittals.
  • Communicate site status to Sr. Construction Manager or Director, Development on a regular basis through exchange of trackers and attendance at deployment meetings.
  • Provide responses to customer inquiries and requests for proposal by providing a detailed scope of work and cost estimate.
  • Manage billing of milestone and pass-through revenue associated with assigned sites.
  • Review and approve project expense requests, purchase orders and vendor invoices.
  • Ensure compliance with American Tower safety and regulatory requirements for all American Tower personnel and 3rd party vendors.
  • Provide regular reporting to management that details project performance, staffing and new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of master license agreements (“MLAs”) and service contracts related to active projects.
  • Escalate issues to Sr. Construction Manager as appropriate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • None

QUALIFICATIONS:

·         Demonstrated expertise in managing wireless site construction through prior experience in network deployment projects, or construction management responsibilities.

·         Financial analysis and budgeting skills.

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·         Ability to create forms, letters and fundamental spreadsheets using MS Word and Excel.

·         Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently.

·         Safe driving record and own transportation.

·         Valid driver’s license.

·         Must be able to walk over undeveloped land unassisted.

·         Must be able to travel unassisted.

·         Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

 

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

·         College degree in business, planning, engineering, construction management or equivalent work experience in the wireless site development industry.

·         Minimum 3 years of work experience in the wireless site construction and carrier deployment

ENVIRONMENT:

Approximately 60% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.  Approximately 40% travel throughout project territory will be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.  Some incumbents may travel approximately 60% throughout project territory in support of the position’s responsibilities.

 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and finger to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
