Position Summary

  SUMMARY: 

The Project Manager, Operations will work closely with the VP of Field Operations to oversee and manage the Shared Generator Program and Operations projects as assigned on American Tower assets. The projects include but are not limited to data audits, tracking project updates, and developing budgets for future projects. The incumbent will be required to work closely with the Operations teams in the field to assure timely and quality completion of these items. The Project Manager will liaise with the Operations team to ensure projects are completed within American Tower and industry compliance and safety guidelines. This position will also be required to monitor alarms and activity on Shared Generator sites and utilize site data to ensure optimal results from project. The Project Manager is also responsible for managing relationships with external vendors working on current and future projects to ensure deliverables are met within forecasted timeframes.

 
Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:               

  • Responsible for tracking of Shared Generator Program projects utilizing internal and external databases.
  • Responsible for reporting and tracking of capital and repairs and maintenance expenditures.
  • Develop budgets for Operations, capital projects, Shared Generator projects and manage those budgets through the completion of the project.
  • Understand and manage augmentation activity on our assets to make certain work is being performed in accordance with American Tower safety, compliance, and environmental expectations.
  • Work in conjunction with Site Operations personnel to manage all subcontractors, internal personnel, and internal teams responsible for their respective construction and timely delivery of completed projects.
  • Ensure that all reporting and documentation is current, including OASIS input, centralized files, closeout documentation, regulatory compliance documentation and other information required to effectively track, review and maintain our information is up to date related to capital activities.
  • Responsible for evaluating pricing such that they meet the required budgetary restraints of the project and working with Central Procurement to award the contract.
  • Responsible for the continual evaluation of the contractor/bid process to ensure optimal pricing and adherence to industry standards and regulations. 
  • Responsible for monitoring activity and alarms on Shared Generator Projects.
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities.
  • Identify and implement systems optimization opportunities geared toward leveraging the efforts of the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Able to work with various functional groups effectively
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing wireless site development professionals through prior experience in network deployment projects, site acquisition or construction management responsibilities.
  • Strong working knowledge of tower development regulations and industry practices
  • Established relationships with wireless carriers and site development professionals
  • Strong financial analysis and budgeting skills
  • Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently
  • Safe driving record and own transportation
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to walk over undeveloped land unassisted
  • Must be able to travel unassisted
  • Must be able to sit at a computer for long periods of time

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years industry experience
  • Construction experience preferred         

 ENVIRONMENT:

Approximately 70% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.  Approximately 30% travel throughout project territory will be required in support of the position’s responsibilities.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and finger to feel and handle, reach with arms and hands, talk, and hear.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
